你知道吗？今天，5月8日，除了是母亲节之外，还是一个特殊的节日，那就是世界微笑日。

它的英文表达是：World Smile Day。

有一种说法是，5月8日是国际红十字会创始人亨利·杜南的生日，所以，从1948年开始，国际红十字会规定将这一点定为世界红十字日，也即“世界微笑日”。

所以各位童鞋们，今天一定要奖励自己一个大大的微笑哦！

不过，有一个问题来了，是不是很多人看到“笑”这个词，第一反应出来的英文都是smile？

其实，smile是一个概括性的表述（general term），可以表达各种心情愉悦的笑容。注意，它只表达面部表情（facial expression），不包括笑声（vocal expression）。
